Step Into The Mirror

As I look at the reflection

I see a cold and dismal face.

Searching through the darkness

What is this dreadful place

Things look more familliar

As further in I go

Then I pause and realize

This is a mirror to my soul

Step into the mirror, Bring some light with you

Step into the mirror, To dispell this gloom

Step into the mirror, Let me feel again

Step into the mirror, True love from within

Look at what you did to me

My life is all a mess

Played with my emotions

I bet you did your best

My life is now a wreck

You’re the primary cause

Do you think about it

Each time my teardrops fall

Step into the mirror, Bring some light with you

Step into the mirror, To dispell this gloom

Step into the mirror, Let me feel again

Step into the mirror, True love from within

Images now surround me

Wisp of my cloudy past

Things I thought were truth

and love I thought would last

So many promises broken

A million dreams denied

Fond memories of laughter

An ocean of tears I cried

Step into the mirror, Bring some light with you

Step into the mirror, To dispell this gloom

Step into the mirror, Let me feel again

Step into the mirror, True love from within

Can You Save Me

When all of the wounds

of our past mistakes,

have begun to heal,

and to fade away.

We can see through this darkness

that used to contain

all the joy and pleasure

thats become sorrow and pain.

Look into these eyes,

They reflect years of pain.

You tell me you love me,

but words are easy to say.

can you convince my heart?

Thats the real task at hand.

Put together the pieces

of this lonely broken man.

When you look into my life,

what do you see?

Inside theres a sadness,

an everlasting need.

To finally feel the love

Thats always been denied.

Just a little taste of joy,

to wipe away the tears I cried.

Can you save me?

from what I’ve become.

Can you save me?

Show me the way home.

Can you save me?

Help me find my way.

Can you save me?

So i can see a brighter day.

Crown Of Regret

Day after day we struggle to “get ahead”
or just “make it through” the ordeal of this so called “life”
that we are destined to live,
but this living is nowhere near the joy
that resides unseen before under the surface of our fear and doubt produced by our past.
Inevitably, we allow our past to become a set of shackles to bind us to a collection of lies
A prison much worse than those constructed of concrete and bars,
for these institutions do not contain our physical bodies…
they house our spirits…
our very smiles and laughter are costly luxuries that many of us will never be able to afford…
Yet many of us refuse to walk away when offered the opportunity to escape what we fear.
The approaching unknown…
So we don a new crown.
A bright shiny thing that turns dull with corrosion of regret.
our precious crown of complacency…
So wear it proudly!!! You Paid dearly for it!!!
All of our hopes and dreams, smiles and laughter,
kisses and hugs engulfed in heartfelt bliss… flaking off and disintegrating into nothing.
like the rust on our crown….
