Afraid to Fall

Alone in his room he wonders

as he lies awake in bed

will she open up her heart to him?

so many questions in his head

he sees something in her eyes

that make him hungry for more

if he begins to lean on her too much

and it happens like before…

He could fall again

theres just no way to win

there is reason for concern

a dreadful lesson has been learned

all because of the past

he is walking on broken glass

so afraid to fall

He so scared to trust her

but he just wants to believe

she will always be by his side

and never ever leave

promises to “always love”

seem to come so easily

confused and concerned

as anyone would be

Is that too much to ask of you

I just want to see the love

you have for me in all you do

A need to feel the security

and know you’ll always be mine

an understanding that keeps us close

as problems come up from time to time

I just want to believe in you

and always know I’ve got a friend

someone I love with all my heart

who will be there till the end

There’s nothing like that special someone

whom we give our all and all

everyone wants it oh so bad

but we’re just afraid to fall.
